Sustainability
DMPM strongly believes in initiatives to stimulate the sustainability of housing and lower the carbon footprint of Dutch residential home owners. To underline this statement DMPM is taking a pioneering role in various market-wide initiatives.
Energy Efficient Mortgage NL Hub (EEM NL Hub)
DMPM is a board member of the Energy Efficient Mortgage NL Hub (EEM NL Hub), which aim is to accelerate the development of climate-friendly housing in the Netherlands by defining and maintaining a framework for energy-efficient mortgages, giving investors and buyers greater transparency. In doing so, it will align the Dutch mortgage market with EU and global sustainability regulations. In 2020 the EEM Label was established by the European Mortgage Federation – European Covered Bond Council (EMF-ECBC) as a clear and transparent quality label for consumers, lenders and investors, aimed at identifying energy efficient mortgages (EEM) in lending institutions’ portfolios.
For the purpose of our participation in the EEM NL Hub, we report quarterly for EEM NL Label on the number of green mortgages in the portfolio of our labels IQWOON, Robuust, HollandWoont and Clarian Wonen.
De Woonpas
DMPM’s cooperation with Bank Nederlandse Gemeenten to support “De gemeentelijke verduurzamingsregeling/De Woonpas” provides a good example that sustainability measures on a property can be achieved by a property linked tax instead of a mortgage or personal loan.
